Planning retirement and the future of the family business – using the Lego Serious Play Methodology
Mary, a director of a family business was reluctant to retire as she was unsure what would happen to her business. She came to see Coachmind to discuss her reluctance.
The coach decided to use the Lego Serious Play methodology to engage the untapped knowledge Mary might already have about her upcoming retirement. Playing a scenario involving “Building Agents” Mary quickly realised where she saw threats of retirement to her business, and was able to experiment with various scenarios of retirement and making arrangements for the future security of her company.
After the session the coach (and facilitator of the session) photographed and printed the various agents. As they continued their coaching sessions, both Mary and the coach referred back to the one Lego Serious Play session they had which clarified the path forward.
